Copying then pasting to a different layer

Is there any way to copy a shape from frame 100 of layer x....and then paste it into another layer--layer y-- and have it retain the same shape as it had at frame 100 on layer x.....Or does it always revert back to its original shape (layer x frame 0)???...

i just tried... it seems you cant copy a frame from one layer to another, only they shape - so it will copy it from 0 but will put down the keyframe at 100...

so copy/paste the shape into layer 2 (or duplicate the layer if its empty) then select the key at 100, alt+c to copy it and alt+v on frame 0 to make 0 like 100. then you can delete it from frame 100.
