Hou can i do to insert text?

Post by turminator »

Hello community!

I want to insert text on my animations. I think that it is posible if I do all letters pont by point but it's very difficult and slowly metodh.

Is ther any script or tool that I can Introduce some letters or numerbs, and automatically it draw on a vector layer?

Thanks a lot!
Sorry for my bad English.

Create a vector layer or select an existing vector layer.

Under the Draw menu select Insert Text...

Depending on how many fonts you have this may take a while. Eventually a new window will appear and you can type in text and change the font and attributes etc.

Hit okay and the text is placed as vectors. The text is not "perfect" or exact because AS curves are different than traditional vectors.

You can save a lot of work if you place your text in a mask setup and animate the mask so it reveals one character at a time.

Oh thanks a lot for your comment. I think that I do manually all letters. This trick its really good!

I think that a one suggestion to new versions is that we can add more to windows tool (f.ex. insert text)

See you and thanks!

i don't like the how AS insert text. the result is always annoying.
it should have a real text tool (just like almost every software). i'm doing a lot of work that includes text, and i must to create png of each word and insert them in AS.
there is an old feature request about text, but it wasn't popular.

If there was a way to "render" the scripting draw method a new "font" text tool could be created.

This might be easier for an update than actually adding better text in the program. I just need to be able to "render" drawn interface elements like bones and vector lines.

A majority of feature requests could be handled by script fanatics like myself if there was more access to the program through scripting.
