PS I just tried setting the end at 384 instead of 600 but all that did was have him take 3 steps, get nowhere near the mark where he was supposed to trip and fall and then it ended.

The walk cycle is 31 frames long so your action needs to take place after it not during it. So in your example, hold still till 354, then walk till 385, then on frame 386 you put your trip action. Here's an example file, right click and choose save as.

I'm sorry to be so dim, but I just don't understand -

After reading what you wrote I tried going to frame 354 and then dragging the character over to where he should fall and clicking frame 378 on the timeline but that didn't work either.

Well, yea, that's exactly what I need him to do, but I don't see how to get him to do that. For some reason when I try to go into the channel tab all that shows is a single audio file, I've clicked the man in the layers tab, but channels still only shows an audio file.

Go to the EDIT>PREFERENCES sub menu at the top and find the consolidate timeline channels option and make sure it isn't checked.

Are you saying that my file that I sent only shows an audio track? Can you post a screen shot? No i don't have the ability to link to another computer.

no, the file you sent shows what you were trying to show, but the file I've created thus far, which has a background image, 4 characters and 2 audio files, only shows the audio file on the channels tab, on the squencer tab I see everything, but not on the channel tab - difference between pro and debut?

i just tried going in and doing a simple one character moving across the screen, went to channels tab, with yours I saw a bunch of bones on the left side, with mine a box with arrows in it, but with just the one character I could manipulate the time line on the channels tab

No I made that file in Debut, but here's a step by step video. If this doesn't give you a clue to what's wrong then you can upload the anime file to a file sharing site like Mediafire( its free) and I'll try to see whats wrong.

You are absolutely right! I was adjusting the switch layer not the bone layer! I also think I've probably messed this thing up so much at this point I'll be better off starting from scratch to avoid any glitches in it, I have to run out for awhile, I need to go take care of my father, getting his dinner on and trash out for pickup, then I'll rebuild, so hopefully the only other thing you'll hear from me is a final "DONE! THANK YOU!" but it might not be till late, so I'll say thank you again, and when (and if) I actually accomplish this, I'll post on youtube and send you a link. YOu have been so patient and fantastic in helping me, I can't thank you enough.
