New Animated Skit
Hello fellow humans.
Here's what I've been working on lately. It has a few F-words. But otherwise is pretty safe.
I'm not completely happy with it, but there's always next time...

Re: New Animated Skit
This was beautifully animated and the caricatures were very good. However, for all of the interview, the two funniest things I found were the opening theme and the Larry Merchant boxing poster in the background. And when Larry merchant said he wanted to discuss one event, I thought for sure he was going to cite some obscure punch from one round of one fight, as he always does: "what were you thinking in round 4 when you took that jab to the right cheek?"
Anyway, great video!

Haha, thanks, and you are definitely a boxing fan if you know that.Danimal wrote:This was beautifully animated and the caricatures were very good. And yes, I almost didn't post this because I just felt that it wasn't very good (the joke). I was talked into posting it

This clip could get a lot of views. I remember selgin's animation of the Beatles crossing Abbey RD which went viral. I'll favorite this one in YT and watch its activity.

I really like how you handled the hands in this. The transitions are seamless. I may have to take a leaf out of your book. I need to follow your example with my current project, as i'm going to use convoluted movements, and hands are the most intimidating factor for me.

Re: New Animated Skit
Your caricatures are awesome, and your timing with edits and scenes really make it flow (the only scene that went by a bit too quick was the image of the chocolate ears, I had to run it back a couple of times to read what it said). If Tyson's voice was a just little higher pitched and lispy it would have been closer, but I thought the whole chocolate thing was pretty funny, you just may have stumbled upon the real reason for the bite.

Re: New Animated Skit
I'm still trying to master the hair 'fade'! I remember you described it for me but it's still a mystery. A 'soft edge' fill is the closest I can get. I've had problems animating gradients so I prefer soft edges. Characters with blowing hair and clothes don't impress me. With my current character I want to 'fade' the eyelid as opposed to an outline. We might need you to do a tutorial on your technique!

Thanks. It's really just trial and error with the switch layers. You have to find that sweet spot to make the transition, so it flows and isn't jarring. Its tougher during slower movements.sargumphigaus wrote:I really like how you handled the hands in this. The transitions are seamless. I may have to take a leaf out of your book. Thanks. I considered doing the Tyson voice higher, and maybe should have, but his current voice isn't as high as it once was. Still, maybe I should aim less for realism/accuracy with my voices and more for exaggeration -- like my caricatures drawings. Something to consider.

Yes, I can do a tutorial for sure. Guess I'm not quite sure what you are having issue with. Tyson's hair fade?3deeguy wrote:I'm still trying to master the hair 'fade'! Re: New Animated Skit
Yes, Tyson's hair fade.I also want to use a fade technique around the eyes, like mascara. If there's a way to bind a gradient to a bone I never learned it.

Re: New Animated Skit
Sorry for the late reply. That's a mystery to me as well. You'll notice with Tyson's fade for example, there's not a lot of drastic movement with it. So you can't tell. But when I did the Lebron skit, you could really notice that the gradient wasn't bound to the bones of the 'Hat' characters' eye shadow make-up.3deeguy wrote:Yes, Tyson's hair fade.I also want to use a fade technique around the eyes, like mascara. If anyone out there has any ideas or work-arounds on this, please share. Otherwise, this will be something I will definitely add to the list of feature requests for future versions of AS.

How did you make the drop shadow show on the back of the chairs but not anywhere else, like the wall behind it?
