Moho 14.2. stuck in Add Point Tool

Im drawing in Moho 14.2.
2-3 times within the last hour the programme got stuck in the app points tool. Clicking on any other tool would only set a point behind the tools bar. same with the layers window. safeing was not possible. shortcuts were also not acceptet. eventuelly it snapped out of this behaviour after some attempts to play the timeline and klick around. I then saved and restated Moho.
Seems like a bug.

Also, are you running any third-party scripts? I wonder if there's a conflict with a tool mod or other related script. If so, try setting up a clean content directory and systematically enable the third-party tools to see if there is any conflict.

FWIW, I had been heavily using 14.2 (Win) in beta testing for a few months, and the new Add Points and Freehand tools have been very stable for me.

I hope you get it figured out.

I have MYND TOOLS. Keytool and MR Guides installed.
Didnt have the issue again, but also didnt use the tool as much. i ran into it when drawing the shapes of a character.
Lets see if it occurs again. If so i will try to make screenshots

It happened again. I will try to describe it:

- Working with addpoint tool
- Suddenly it gets "stuck" = cant change tool through click, cant klick on menupoint (image 1 & 2), also saving through shortcut doesent work
- the only thing possible is to choose another layer (not documented as screenshot). I did this and then could acess the save menu by click to save. I also could choose other tools in the toolbar on the left side but the function didnt change from the add point tool. it stayed stuck.
- the way out was to save and then restart.

Hmm...that's very strange, indeed.

As mentioned, I've been using the new Add Point Tools heavily for a few months, and it's been working well for me, so I don't think the tool itself is broken.

The current version of Add Points has improvements that address critical problems found in the older version, and I wonder if these fixes don't like the presence of some older scripts. For example, the MYND scripts are really old, and I wouldn't be surprised if the latest version of Moho conflicts with some of them. I suggest working with all third-party scripts disabled for a while. To do this, drag the scripts into a subfolder called something like 'Disabled'. It doesn't matter what what the folder is called, Moho will ignore any scripts in a nested subfolder. Then press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+L to refresh the scripts.

If the problem disappears, you can be reasonably sure the issue is with one or more of the disabled third-party scripts. You can systematically drag some of the scripts back into the parent Scripts folder to test compatibility until you find the offending script.

By the way, I'm pretty sure MR_Guides is fine because I use it almost daily. Kuzkuz is diligent about keeping his tools compatible with the latest release of Moho.

Speaking of KuzKuz, if you continue to have trouble with the Add Point tool, try his alternative called MR Curve.

I'm having a similar problem, 3 or 4 times since the new version but I still don't have much information about it. In my case I'm not sure it always happens with the add points tool, I don't think so. And everything is frozen in a strange way, for example I can still use the shortcuts to save the file which has been my exit when I had work to lose.

Right now I'm being a little bit crunched to death so I don't have much time to do tests without scripts but I will try to understand it better. Sometimes it's some little thing only some people do, like that bug we had that only appeared when the style panel was docked. I suspect it may be related to having multiple projects opened, or maybe the shape window script that is giving me some problems lately, but those are just conjectures.

I ran into a similar situation now while using the add bones tool. I had a second file open and closed it. There was no problem after that. So maybe it is really connected with having multiple files open. I'll observe further...
