AI books ?
Hi!
I noticed that there are some modern Moho books popping up on Amazon (Moho 14), for example "Moho Pro 14:The Animator’s Complete Workflow Guide" by a Kristoff Linden, I cannot find anything about the author and there are no reviews of these books, they are all short, 130-140 pages or so, pretty cheap, the amazon description feel's like a bullet list, has anyone here read or bought any of these books ? they feel a bit AI generated to me, I guess an AI generated book may not be bad by itself, but if they do not have the patience to actually write a book, I don't have the patience to read it.
I can find most things on internet and the Moho manuals are good so no need to actually buy a book, but if it is actually good useful information it might be fun to have, but only if it is a "real" book.

I say stay away, don't touch it with a 10 foot stick. Just the cover is a giveaway: any decent animation book would feature some art, not random stock photo people grinning at a laptop. Additionally Amazon's further recommendations feature more scam (get rich with crypto, get rich with AI).

Re: AI books ?
look at the publication date of the cited work -- 6 December 2025. And the snippet on Amazon (UK) I browsed didn't fill me with confidence that it was written by someone who knew enough about Moho and animation. E.g., unless someone here can tell me I've missed something, I don't think there are "Camera Layers" in Moho which, according to the book's index, are described on p45.RustAndMagic wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 3:53 pm ... for example "Moho Pro 14:The Animator’s Complete Workflow Guide" by a Kristoff Linden, I cannot find anything about the author and there are no reviews ...
and, IMO, the asking price (UK £11.26) is not cheap

I'm looking at a couple of the other 'Moho 14' books. Some of them can't even be bothered to put a cartoon illustration on the cover.

Re: AI books ?
It's not just Moho. "How to" AI slop has invaded every subject matter, JavaScript, Python, fiction writing, etc. There are youtube videos on how to "get rich quick" creating and publishing this low-effort material. Buyer beware!
Re: AI books ?
That all said: are there any official Moho books out there? (Official meaning just a normal, decent how-to-book written by somebody in the know.)
We could provide a list of genuin helpful books here and warn about any others.

Hey Slowtiger, and anyone else reading.
In 2026 my co-author (Chris Georgenes) and I will release our published book : The Animator's Blueprint: The Beginner's Guide to Mastering Moho (Publisher: CRC Press) beginning of 2026 - on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and anywhere else books are sold.
Later that year we will be releasing volume 2 of The Animator's Blueprint series: The Ultimate Guide to Mastering Moho
We've spent almost two years working on the books. Volume 1 went through extensive early access feedback with beta readers to make sure we deliver the best beginners guide to those new to animation and veterans of animation new to Moho and will soon be opening early access for volume 2.
Volume 2 will be full of all my workflows, advanced techniques, and tips from my 12+ years animating in and teaching Moho, as well as professional insight from Chris with his 25+ years in the animation industry.
I've not officially announced the books within the Moho community - so consider this a pre announcement. We'll have more details soon on a release date from the publisher, after the holidays.

Thanks Dennis! We are very excited and anxious to get it out there - we really hope it helps those that enjoy learning through books.
We are very proud of the work we did on it and the feedback readers have given us on how they were able to start from scratch and by the end of the book create a fully animated scene with no animation experience (2 characters and background) has been incredible
