Smooth Joints for bone pair - images sharp corners?

Post by heyvern »

I love the feature, but was wondering if there's a way to smooth the sharp corners on image bending? It's almost perfect, but bending an arm, I get a sharp point at the elbow.
If not it's still a great feature as long as you don't bend too far.

Can you post an example?

In my experience, Smooth Joint always makes a rounded bend. Basically, it uses a circular region for the bend.

I have a couple of examples in this video:

https://youtu.be/UMpJ6aTCvos?si=WG_BhknJbb2CnJxz&t=410

In the main tutorial, Smooth Joint deforms a bitmap layer, and in the Puss example, it deforms a vector layer with a bitmap fill.

In the workspace, the roundness may be segmented, but it renders smoothly.

Hope this helps.

HAHAHAHAHA! Oh my gosh. Sorry. I never rendered it. It's perfectly nicely wonderfuly smooth when rendered. It was the screen display that had a horrible triangular point at the elbow.
I am plagued by user error lately

There's lots on potential gotchas to forget... especially as we age.

Yeah, I believe an optimization thing: low-poly for better workspace performance, high-poly for better render quality.
