Hi from Australia.
Not sure how to go about this ... I'm creating a fairy character (all the components: head, body, arms, legs, wings etc on different layers) and I want the wings to animate super fast, probably at least 40 frames a second in, say, a 4 second cycle. I then want to attach these wings to the main body of the character which is in a timeline at the standard 24 fps.
Any tips most welcome.

Not possible.
We're creating for video (and film) here, that means the playback speed is fixed and usually should only be one of the standard FPS like 24, 25 or 30 frames (depends on your broadcaster). This means nothing in your scene can have a "higher framerate". The fastest you can have is "on 1's", meaning the object changes in every frame.
Search some of your favourite Anime for high speed movement and study it frame-by-frame: you'll see they use a bunch of tricks to let something appear very fast. Search for "motion blur", "distortion", "multiples".

Re: Stumped
and what output frame rate do you anticipate for the final (merged) video? Because if it's less than the super-fast rate for the wings you'll not see the individual frames for the wings.iandalkin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2026 6:15 pm Hi from Australia.

Also - a 4 second cycle???? if that's from "down" through "up" and back to "down" that's really very slow. Most small to medium sized birds in steady flight flap about 2 to 20 times a second. Hummingbirds are even faster. So have a think about how fast you actually want these wings to beat.
But if you do want a 4 second cycle, then there's no point in having upwards of 160 tweens - just use moho's built-in interpolation to get from (say) down - up - (pause) - down along with whatever breakdowns you want in there on (say) the wing tips -- for inspiration search "muybridge bird in flight".
Then for fast action, in moho you have a couple of options: one is to do a manual blur / smear (as indicated by Slowtiger); the other is to use the motion blur options as in the layer settings window.
