Keyframe Rotation Problem? Please Help

Post by betamax »

I was getting excited about working with AS today and then this. I'm making a very simple keyframe animation with a an object rotating, but when i playback it rotates but also scales. Does anybody know why it's scaling? I never set any of the keyframe for scaling and never even clik on the scaling tool.

Here's a link to YouTube with a video screen capture of the problem.

Why is this scaling? It's just suppose to rotate.

Please help and thanks for your time.

Point motion is translational. When you use the rotate tool on points, you are simply translating the points in a rotational manner; AS will still interpolate, or "tween", between the first and last keyframe in a straight line.

To get the effect you want, create more keyframes between the first and last keyframe. Or, even easier, rotate the layer, not the points.

You can also put the object on a seperate layer and use the Layer rotation tool. Layer rotation does not scale. You can adjust the pivot point of the layer with the Set Origin tool.
