Exporting to Image Sequence has random "black" fra

Post by touchdown »

I'm exporting an image sequence that keeps getting two areas of black frames to show up.

Under my imported .avi layer I have a simple vector layer serving as a colored background.

I have an .avi element of a 3d model (made with ulead cool 3d). The avi shows the 3d element fly off screen and back on. However, i'm not moving the layer of the .avi--it was rendered that way in the 3D app.

Under 'image settings' i have the "has alpha" box checked. Is there a glitch here when the element flies off screen and all that's left in my imported .avi is an empty frame of, alpha? I'm lost.

When the element is on screen, all is fine.

When the element flies off screen, I get black frames.

BUT, if I export my .anme to quicktime for viewing it works just fine.

This only happens when exporting to an image sequence.

Is your coloured vector background layer black?

Have you tried unchecking 'has alpha'?

Are you exporting to an image sequence in the same frames per second as your project file?

Are the black frames in the beginning or the end of the sequence?

I haven't unchecked alpha yet because it leaves the black background under my 3D animation from the other app.

29.97 fps on both.

My background is a gradient with grey and and a reddish-white, radial pattern.

The frames happen twice, both in the middle of the sequence.

Each of those times happens exactly when my 3d model flies out of frame. I am not "flying" it with layer keyframe btw. The imported animation simply has two parts where the model leaves the screen.

I'll experiment when I get back and try to post the .anme for a look-see.

Thanks again

If it is always the very same frame getting black, just set the video layer to invisible on that frame ...

yeah, i'll try that.

i tried alpha/no-alpha with no success. no problems ANYWHERE with masking settings, opacity, etc.

if i kill the visibility though, the video starts over at the next point of visibility, correct?

maybe opacity would be the way to go.

no if you put the video inside a group and turn off the visibility of the group instead the video

Cool. Thanks for the help guys. I'll post back later.

I was wondering, since that avi (that has alpha) had it's only element leave the screen, would that negate the alpha and just revert back to a black screen? I know it's a question for ULead; I was just curious.
