Hey, there mohos. I've recently been lending a hand to another animator but I've been a little stuck on where my motion may be stilted.
In essence, the project is a fanmade cartoon for the game League of Legends. I'm having a little trouble of bringing out the personality in the characters. Anyone care to critique? Currently, the project's in preproduction but I'm doing tests to warm-up and get a feel for the characters.
Here's the character Annie, a preadolescent child with the ability to throw fireballs and transform her teddy bear into a flaming hulk.
The first test I did was a skip cycle. I feel there is some point where the movement isn't quite right, but I can't quite pinpoint it.

Here's an introduction/teaser for the project.

Your body is painfully stiff. She is not skipping, but goose-stepping. Take a look at this sequence of drawings from Preston Blair for a skip cycle:

Notice how the squirrel's body arches and twists, the head rolls from side to side, the arms go fully backwards and forwards. The body in your animation looks like a poker in comparison. Sorry, but you did ask for criticism...

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
No offense taken cause that's perfect. That's a good resource that I didn't see before. The character in the game always skips to move, so as many concise examples of skips are important and helpful. Going to see if I can incorporate the movement later. Thank you.jahnocli wrote:Your body is painfully stiff. She is not skipping, but goose-stepping. More stuff for critiquing. April Fool's Day came and there was a community event: Happy Urf Day. Urf's a manatee. He fights with a fish and a spatula. He got skinned alive by a wolfman.
