i tried 6 different images--some .jpg, some .png----most of the time it will apply the toon effect, but then as soon as i try to adjust the 'edge', 'gray', 'black'...and so on, thats when it happens......my desktop is a 9 year old sony vaio..wndws XP....the 'intel' website checked my graphics driver and says it is 'current', but i wonder if i need a graphics hardware upgrade or something......i doudt if it's the AS program causing the problem, its probably my obsolete vaio  thanks

Make sure your Quicktime is updated. Sometimes old versions can cause problems.
